Wally Martyniek is the founder of Spectrum Benefits, LLC. With forty years of experience in employee benefits, he provides in-depth strategic planning, claims analysis and cost containment concepts for plans throughout the year. Wally conducts industry analysis and closely monitors market trends in the industry. He is responsible for the overall performance of the plans at Spectrum Benefits and oversees the Spectrum Benefits, LLC Team. Wally attended Aquinas College and Michigan State University. He is a Licensed Life and Health Resident Producer in the State of Michigan and fourteen states across the nation.

Jeff started with Spectrum Benefits, LLC in 1996. As the Director of Marketing, Jeff’s unique role at Spectrum Benefits positions him as the primary intermediary between our clients and the insurance marketplace. Jeff conducts an extensive market and renewal analysis, conducts rate negotiations, evaluates funding options and works closely with the team to develop plan design alternatives. With twenty-five years in employee benefits, Jeff is very conscientious of trends in the industry and upcoming plan design concepts. Jeff earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Western Michigan University and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. He is a licensed Life and Health Resident Producer and a Licensed Insurance Counselor in the State of Michigan.

Shelley joined Spectrum Benefits in 2005 as an Account Executive. She brings over twenty-two years of experience working in employee benefits. As part of the Spectrum Benefits team, she oversees accounts from implementation to renewal working closely with clients, producers, and carriers ensuring that client objectives and employee needs are met. This may include high-level compliance matters, creating and analyzing claims reports, conducting employee meetings, or working to resolve day to day billing and claim questions. She manages fully-insured and self-funded medical, dental and short-term disability lines, long-term disability, life and AD&D, voluntary benefits and consumer-directed health programs. Shelley attended Central Michigan University and is a Licensed Producer for Life, Accident and Health benefits.

As an Account Executive, Rachel works closely with clients to deliver effective solutions in administering Employee Benefits programs. This may include executing benefit implementation, generating customized benefits material, analyzing claims reporting for self-funded clients, answering questions regarding group benefits and insurance policies, providing compliance assistance with federal and state legislation, etc. Prior to joining Spectrum Benefits in early 2013, Rachel served in various Human Resource Management and Benefits Administration roles in the transportation, retail, and higher education industries for over 10 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Davenport University in Human Resource Management and maintains certificates as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS).​​​

Sara joined Spectrum Benefits in 2019. Prior to joining the team she was the HR Administrator at a large national firm here in Grand Rapids where she performed employee evaluations, processed employee transfers, administered FMLA / STD, and verified and performed various reporting audits. Sara will assist clients with processing enrollments, changes and terminations. She will also work with the Spectrum Team in creating and compiling enrollment material and the overall function and efficiency of the Spectrum Benefits office operations.
